Where and how do I create a game account and DDO subscription?
(Last updated: 01-10-2009 16:09:11)
  1. Go to the Codemasters Online (CO)Player Accounts Site to setup up your account

  2. If you do not already have an account, click on the 'Click here to create a new account' link at the bottom

  3. Hit the submit button

  4. You will be asked to select a username. The name that you choose will be your login ID for the CO accounts system AND for DDO.

  5. Choose a password and a secret answer as your password reminder

  6. Hit submit

  7. You should see a message saying your account creation was successful

  8. You are required to click an activation link that will be sent to you in an email to complete the process. This can take up to several hours sometimes depending on traffic. If you are an AOL or Arcor customer there can be issues with AOL/Arcor not allowing our e-mails through to you and in this case it is recommended you use a Hotmail or Yahoo email account to register with. You can always change your details later on.

  9. When the e-mail arrives, click the activation link to activate your account

  10. You should now see a CO accounts page that says your account activation was successful

  11. Now click the link to go to the CO accounts home page

  12. If you are not already, login using the username and password you chose in step 4

  13. Once logged in, click the link that says 'Click here to create a new subscription'

  14. From the product drop down box, select DDO

  15. Enter your retail key in the box provided

  16. Write the word you see in the box provided

  17. Hit submit

  18. You should now see a message saying that your new subscription has been created successfully and you are ready to start playing

Note: If you do not own a credit card or if you do not have a verified PayPal account yet you may choose the option "I WILL PAY LATER" to activate the account immediately. (For details on this please see the FAQ entry: "How do I activate my free month's game time?").
