Problem:
The game crashes on certain circuits, particularly on the World Tour.
Solution:
Try turning off the shadows option from the Race Driver 3 configure program. This can be found on your Windows Start Menu >
Codemasters > Race Driver 3 > configure Race Driver 3
On the Graphics tab, select "Advanced Settings", drag the "Shadow Quality" slider to off, select OK and then Save and Play.
Or, in the game itself (options > graphics), turn off virtual and cockpit mirrors.

Problem:
One or all of the following do not appear to be saved when the game is resumed:
1) The game settings, including any controller settings
2) Game progress
3) Any cheat codes entered
Solution:
Game settings are automatically saved in user's profiles. You must ensure, therefore, that each time you start the game you LOAD a profile. If you select CONTINUE, none of the above will be saved and you will not be able to access previous settings or progress.

Problem:
Race Driver 3 freezes for periods of time and does not run smoothly. This is evident after the installation of Windows XP Service Pack 2 and when using a force feedback controller
Solution:
There are two workarounds for this problem:
1) Disable force feedback for your controller. If you do not want to disable force feedback, then you should use workaround number 2.
2i) You need to set the application priority for Race Driver 3 to High each time the game is loaded.
You can do this as follows:
a) Start the game
b) When the game has loaded, press ctrl-alt-delete (once) to bring up the Task Manager
c) Select the Processes tab
d) Now right-click on the RD3.exe entry
e) From the available options, choose "Set Priority" > "High"
f) You should then receive a warning, click Yes to proceed
g) Now close the Task Manager
The game should now play normally.
2ii) To create a shortcut that automatically loads the game at High Priority, do as follows:
Right click on your desktop and select New > Shortcut. In the "type the location of the item" box copy this line of text
%windir%\system32\cmd.exe /c start "" /high "c:\program files\Codemasters\Race Driver 3\RD3.exe"
If you have installed the game to a different folder from default, you will need to reflect this in the rd3.exe path. Now you need to simply start
the game using the shortcut that you have created.

Problem:
There does not appear to be a cd-key included with the game.
Solution:
The cd-key is on a sticker on the DVD plastic sleeve.
If your sleeve does not have a sticker affixed, please use this key:
UCVXW-NLANL-HFJFR-LJ83Z-JZC3V

Problem:
A new account needs to be created each time the user tries to play online.
Solution:
There is a known incompatibility between Race Driver 3, Gamespy, and certain NAT devices.
If you are using a router, or other NAT device, where this problem is encountered, make sure that you have opened all of the ports
required by Gamespy. These can be found here:
http://www.gamespyarcade.com/support/firewalls.shtml
If the problem persists, you will, unfortunately, need to create a new account each time you try to play online.

If the problem persists, you might like to try the following solution.
1) Start the game
2) Press ctrl - alt - delete
3) Select 'Task Manager'
4) Click on the 'Processes' tab
5) Right click on the game's exe file and choose 'Set Affinity'
6) You should now see two ticked boxes: CPU0 and CPU1. Untick CPU1, so that only one box is ticked
7) Select OK and close the Task Manager.

Problem:
The games crashes with an error in rd3.exe.
Solution:
This can be caused by the following:
1) The ASUS Splendid gfx enhancer graphics card tool
2) The Windows Vista theme customisation pack.
If you have either of these tools installed, please uninstall them, as this should resolve your issue.

Problem:
An error in math3dnow.dll is received when playing the game.
Solution:
This indicates a problem in the graphics system. Firstly, make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card and motherboard. Other suggestions are as follows:
1) In the configure Toca Race Driver 3 program on the Windows start menu, click on the Advanced graphics settings and make sure that anti-aliasing is set to off (drag the slider to the left). If the problem persists, from the main graphics tab, drag the quality slider fully to the left, so that maximum Speed is selected.
2) You may need to set the application priority for Race Driver 3 to High each time the game is loaded.
You can do this as follows:
a) Start the game
b) When the game has loaded, press ctrl-alt-delete (once) to bring up the Task Manager
c) Select the Processes tab
d) Now right-click on the RD3.exe entry
e) From the available options, choose "Set Priority" > "High"
f) You should then receive a warning, click Yes to proceed
g) Now close the Task Manager

Problem:
Problems are encountered when running the game under Windows Vista
Solution:
This version of the game does not officially support Windows Vista, however if you do the following, you should be able to get the game to run:
1) If you have problems installing or running the game - receiving a message concerning administrator privileges - you can run the installation routine or the game itself by right clicking on the icon and selecting "Run as administrator"
2) If you receive an error code 1275, you will need to update the protection drivers from here...
http://www.star-force.com/protection/users/
After installing these newer drivers, you will need to re-boot your PC. Once this is done, the game should run.
